Mahanta Sri Sri Brajajanananda Deva Goswami Prabhupada

Mahanta Sri Sri Brajajanananda Deva Goswami Prabhupada was born in 1657 AD. He became the fourth Mahanta of the Sri Sri Shyamanandi Gaddi after the disappearance of his father, Sri Sri Nayanananda Prabhupada. He arrived at Sri Vrindavan after a long trip on boat. By his divine powers, he brought rainfalls all over Vrajamandal, which was then going through a severe and prolonged drought. He also gladdened the Vrajavasis with his sweet temperament and love. While doing Bhajans in Nandagram, he obtained the Deities of Sri Sri Radha-Kunjabihariji, who are currently worshipped in the Sri Sri Radha-Shyamsundar Temple in Sri Vrindavan. Up to the present day, fifteen poems composed by him have been located, "Sri Sri Radha-Madhavashtaka" is one among them. He was a disciple of Sri Sri Krishnagati Prabhupada and had three sons, Sri Sri Vichitrananda Deva, Sri Sri Bhajanananda Deva and Sri Sri Govindananda Deva. His wife was Srimati Lal Devi, who left this world on the Makara Sankranti day. He disappeared in Nandgram on the twelfth lunar day of the dark fortnight of the Jyeshtha month of 1721 AD.
