Mahanta Sri Sri Sarveshvarananda Deva Goswami Prabhupada

He was born in 1859 AD. His mother was Smt. Kanchana Devi. Father was, Sri Sri Sachchidanananda Deva Goswami Prabhupada, who passed away in 1861 AD. After the disappearance of his grandfather Mahanta Sri Sri Ramkrishnananda Deva Goswami Prabhupada, he became the twelfth Mahanta of the Sri Sri Shyamanandi Gaddi at the age of four. Following the ancient tradition, the ruler of Mayurabhanj, Maharaja Srinatha Chandra Bhanjadeo, was present to hold the umbrella during the coronation . Being legally nominated by the British government as the guardian of the minor Mahanta, his mother Srimati Kanchana Devi started looking after day to day services of the Temple. In 1880 AD, Sri Sri Sarveshvarananda deva was married to Srimati Tara Devi, daughter of Sri Jagadananda Kanungo of the village Nuapahadi near Remuna. He was an expert musician. Whoever heard him playing the flute would become enchanted. Srimati Tara Devi gave birth to two sons, Sri Sri Nanda Nandanananda Deva and Sri Sri Shachi Nandanananda Deva, and a daughter, Srimati Lavanga Manjari . When daughter was only eleven days old, Srimati Tara Davi passed away on the first lunar day of the Ashadha month of 1890 AD.

In 1900 AD Mahanta Sri Sri Sarveshvarnanda left Sripat Gopiballavpur for a pilgrimage and arrived in the temple of his worshipable Sri Sri Radha Shyamsundarji in Vrindabam. After residing there for some days, externally displaying some illness, he attained the dust of Sri Vrindavan on the fourth lunar day of the dark fortnight of the Pausha month. Sri Sri Sarveshvarananda Prabhupada was a disciple of Srimati Kumkuma Devi.
